Welcome to the EdgeX platform. This guide is for you, the technical user who wants to provision infrastructure as soon as possible.

What you can do on the platform

• Create and manage Virtual Machines (VMs)
• Organize your infrastructure into Virtual Datacenters (VDCs)
• Configure networks, subnets, routers, and public IPs
• Create VPNs to connect environments
• Manage disks and backups
• Store objects with S3-compatible Object Storage

Where to start

Follow this sequence to get your first infrastructure running:

1. Understand what a VDC is — the environment that organizes everything
2. Create your first VDC
3. Create your first VM
4. Access the VM via console
5. Configure basic networking
6. Add a public IP
